• Summer Craft and Hobby Night

    by  • April 27, 2013 • Library Updates

Join fellow crafters on Friday,  August 16 at the Colby City Hall Community Room.  The doors open at 4 p.m. and remain open as late as anyone wants to craft.

The August date will feature a special work night for the “Hot Diggity Dog (and Cat) Days of Summer” service project.  The Colby Public Library has chosen the humane societies of Clark and Marathon counties as the service organizations this year to receive help.  In the afternoon, from 1-4 p.m., youth will be invited to create animal toys, blankets, and beds for the animals in the shelters.  Adult help would be appreciated.  From 4 p.m. on, craft and hobby participants are asked to lend a hand to make items for the shelters.  If you have extra pieces of fleece for blankets or toys or old sweatshirts in good condition, please bring them along.  A sewing machine is necessary for the sweatshirt dog beds, and standard fleece notions of cutters, mats and straightedges are needed.

These nights are for adults wishing to join with others to work on individual projects of interest.  The Community Room has a refrigerator and microwave, so feel free to bring snacks to share.

If you have questions about the Hobby/Craft nights, please contact Becky Schmelzer at 715-223-6162 or the Colby Public Library at 715-223-2000.
